The Exe Water Sports Association provides facilities to 578 members across four clubs whose membership reside in and around the city of Exeter.
The four clubs are Exeter Rowing Club, Exeter Canoe Club, Exeter Sub-Aqua Club and Exe-Calibre dragon boating club.
The objective of Exe Water Sports Association is the promotion of community participation in water sports by the provision of facilities to support rowing, canoeing, sub-aqua diving and dragon boating. We do this by being the organisation by which all four clubs can gather together and lease premises from which the four clubs can operate.
All four clubs have open membership criteria, all four clubs welcome members of the public to join their clubs and offer coaching and training in how to undertake their sport, already being able to do the sport undertaken by the club is not a prerequisite to join any of the clubs.
Our club room also hosts meetings held by the Exeter River and Canal User Group, Greater Exeter Strategic Sports Board, Exeter Outdoors Group and Friends of Exeter Ship Canal.
The current facilities at 62 Haven Road have been leased by the Exe Water Sports Association since 1987 when the members of the clubs completed the conversion of the existing buildings on the site. We have outgrown our current facilities and have to rent further buildings from the Exeter Canal and Quay Trust to use as a gymnasium and for further storage of boats.
