Anti-Bullying Policy
EWSA is committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all of our members so they can participate in our sport in a relaxed and secure atmosphere. Bullying of any kind is unacceptable. If bullying does occur, all members, volunteers or parents should be able to tell and know that incidents will be dealt with promptly and effectively. We are a TELLING organisation. This means that anyone who knows that bullying is happening is expected to tell the club welfare officer or any committee member.

Changing Room Guidance
This guidance has been produced in response to a number of queries from individuals, clubs and centres seeking advice about safe use of changing facilities, in particular adults and children sharing facilities. There are no specific legal requirements regarding the use of changing facilities; this guidance document is therefore intended to provide practical guidance to support individuals, clubs and centres to develop their own policies and procedures which will fit their specific environment.
Code of conduct
EWSA is committed to creating an environment where all employees, volunteers and members are treated and treat others with dignity and respect, free from bullying, harassment and discrimination.
We all have a responsibility to help create and maintain a work environment that promotes dignity and respect. Therefore, members are encouraged to be open at all times and to share any concerns or complaints that they may have about any aspect of the club with the welfare officer of EWSA or their member club.

Key Policy
The security of the Exe Water Sports Association (EWSA) is of importance for all users. As a result, there is a limit to the number of keys in circulation for any particular purpose. These procedures set out the structure of the people who can be key holders from any EWS Club and what the limitations are.
Online and Social Media Policy
EWSA recognises that publicity and communication takes place through Social Media and other Online communication tools. This policy describes what social media is, how it may be used by EWSA and how its members should interact with this type of medium to prevent safeguarding and other issues.
Photographic & Filming Equipment Policy
EWSA recognises that publicity and pictures/recordings of young people enjoying their sports and social activities are essential to celebrate the achievements of the club(s) and to promote the sport(s) and a healthy lifestyle. However it is important to observe the following guidelines.
Safeguarding Policy for Children and Adults
EWSA is committed to ensuring that everyone taking part in water sports activities are able to do so and are protected and kept safe from abuse or neglect while they are with coaches, volunteers and/ or staff irrespective of age; disability; gender reassignment; marriage and civil partnership; pregnancy and maternity; race; religion or belief; sex and sexual orientation.
Water Safety Rules and Routines
This policy was written in response to the congestion that sometimes arises on the River Exe and Canal. If all water users follow the below principles and behaviors then this will mitigate against collisions and bad feeling between water users of different disciplines.
